Nuremberg

As Christmas is upon us (or at least the advertising and marketing is), a post revolving around the season is a must. Above are images taken of the most anticipated Christmas market in Europe. Located at the heart of Bavaria, the market in Nuremberg fills the city square with a plethora of stalls filled with handmade goods, pleasant scents of freshly baked ginger bread that fill the cold winter air, mulled wine and little trinkets to take home to loved ones. Definitely a place to add to your bucket list.

Urban Light

Above are a few snapshots of the beautiful lampposts at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) that you may or may not recognize from the scene between Natalie and Ashton in No Strings Attached. The contemporary landscape is just as breathtaking and mystical as in the movie, but if you want a good shot make sure to come early morning/late night, as the area a lot of the time is filled with tourists.

Aqua

Kenzo is one of those lines that manage to get it right time and time again, no matter what season is thrown their way. From their effortlessly cool tiger slippers to the coveted eyeball sweatshirt, all of the fashion world is continuously waiting to see what they have come up with for their next must have purchase. Paris Fashion Week '13 was where dynamic duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim did it again, debuting the Kenzo S/S 14 line. With a theme surrounding the ocean, models stylishly splashed their way out of a wall of H20, featuring jackets with opened back vents for a breezy feel, flowing cuts and even incorporated some statistical facts onto the prints. Stylish and informative, the line fuses classic tailoring with a beachy style of living.

Lysefjord, Norway

Although a bit of a stray from more of the glammed up posts that I have previously uploaded, just as awesome ;) After a combo of writers block and laziness, I hereby present to y'all a travel post of my recent trip to Norway. This Summer I went back to 1/2 of my home countries and it was absolutely amazing - nothing beats the familiar sights and sounds of the place that you call home.

When in Norway, the fam usually picks out a place in the country that we have never been to and set off on a road trip. This time we found ourselves hiking up the breath-taking fjords of Lysefjord (yes, we Norsemen & women love our fjords). The hike consisted of a two day journey, the first trailing to a world famous place called Preikestolen, or Pulpit rock. It took about two hours to hike up, and once we got there we enjoyed the spectacular view from this 604m cliff.

Day 2's hike had us heading up to a famous bolder in the land known as kjeragbolten. Basically, its a glacial deposit stone that's wedged in between two mountains, and dare devils, such as myself (wink wink), hike a 6 hour round trip to reach it and enjoy the crisp and fresh air of the fjord and finally, only the brave will attempt for a new Facebook profile picture by standing on it. Not gonna lie, although I seemed pretty confident in the picture, my heart was definitely pounding away, not having any protection to support me from falling off a 984m cliff.

All in all, it was a great hike, and if your ever considering doing something a little different, I definitely would recommend Lysefjord for you!

Chanel: The Little Black Jacket

I figured it would only be fitting to post B&W pictures from the Chanel Little Black Jacket gallery that I went to. The gallery featured 120 different interpretations of the classic tweed jacket that left me longing for one of my own. The gallery runs for three more days, so Shanghai peeps go on down while it still lasts!

Hawaiian dreaming

 

So it's happened yet again...scrolling through pictures of Honolulu has left a tingle of nostalgia within me. Don't get me wrong, I love being in Shanghai, however I am missing laying by the beach inhaling nothing but the freshest ocean breeze, my sun-kissed skin that has slowly started to fade and that groovy feeling of the sand between my toes. Makos in China

So here I am again, back with a post about art.

Last week I had the pleasure of being introduced to Christopher Makos. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is an established American photographer and artist, known for his close association with that Campbell soup guy...what's his name again? Oh yeah...Andy Warhol. Makos was in Shanghai to promote his latest gallery exhibition, 'Warhol in China', a series of black and white pictures that were taken of Andy himself on their excursion in the 60s to Beijing. 

My job was to help him out on the day of the gallery opening with arranging and positioning his pieces to his exact request. His gallery evening was an obvious success, featuring 3 different collections, divided into two sections: China and New York. The first collection as mentioned, was Warhol in China. The second was a collection of photos known as Lady Warhol of Andy dressed as a female, and the final was of celebrity friends the talent had photographed, including the likes of John Lenon, Mick Jagger's wife, OJ Simpson and Elizabeth Taylor. Not bad, ey?

So other than the fact of me starting to sound like a Canadian, it was an amazing experience and I loved listening to stories and anecdotes about his glamorous world. Paradise Cove

I am no longer in Hawaii anymore but I'm already getting nostalgic just thinking back and looking at all the photos. These photos were of a traditional luau that I went to and it was amazing! If any of you are ever in Honolulu be sure to visit Paradise Cove, you won't be disappointed! I even got dragged on stage by the dancers ;D
